Tour Highlights:
Join us on this six day Vermont bicycle tours as we cycle through Vermont and along the shore of Lake Champlain. Each day we wind our way along quiet country roads through pastoral rolling hills. At night we stay in comfortable inns and B&B’s and dine in fine local restaurants.
From Burlington, Vermont we wind our way into the foothills of the Green Mountains. While in the shadow of the Green Mountains we ride south. Along the way we pass through quintessential Vermont villages nestled in rural valleys of Vermont. After a few days our bicycle tour turns west towards Lake Champlain, passing through the pastoral farms that are the soul of Vermont. After crossing majestic Champlain by ferry our cycling tour travels along the western shore of the lake. To enjoy the natural and historical beauty of this area we take a rest day in the historic village of Essex. From this lakeside village you will have the option of going sea kayaking, riding along the backcountry roads in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, or just relaxing with a good book along the shore of the Lake Champlain. For the last day of the Vermont bicycle tour we enjoy another ferry ride across the lake’s widest part, giving us a spectacular panoramic view of both the Green Mountains and Adirondacks.
To truly experience the beauty and character of Vermont we occasionally travel along compacted dirt roads for short distances. These roads can easily be ridden on a standard road bike. Contact us if you have any questions.
Daily mileages for this Vermont bicycle tour are 59, 46, 34, 49, and 27 miles. Additional riding will be available on the fifth day when we take a rest day in Essex, NY.
