Willamette Valley Wine Sampler
Sample Oregon's Bounty

EVENING BEFORE: Arrive in Salem, Oregon’s State Capital, to join us for a delicious dinner at Morton’s Bistro Northwest. Morton’s Bistro menu reflects their commitment to supporting local vineyards and local organic farmers. We believe great food is an essential ingredient for a great bike tour.

Oregon Wine Country Bicycle ToursDAY 1: Today we ride North through the fertile Willamette Valley, passing fields of wheat, hops, and other local crops. Downstream we’ll cross the Willamette River on the small Wheatland Ferry. As we approach McMinnville we’ll stop at the Evergreen Museum to see Howard Hughes’ Spruce Goose. From here we ride northwest to the quaint village of Carlton. In the afternoon you are on your own to sample wine from local vintners or just enjoy the slow pace of Carlton. Tonight you will enjoy a gourmet French dinner at Cuvee. After an evening stroll through Carlton you can retire to your comfortable bed at the Carlton Inn B&B. Today’s mileage is 37 miles.

DAY 2: After a delicious breakfast, including local delicacies, plan to join us as we explore some of the rural back roads around Carlton. We will determine the route and distance based on the desires of the group. Those wishing not to ride can relax at the B&B or wander around Carlton. In the afternoon join Wild Heart Cycling for wine tasting at one of the local vineyards.

DAY 3: Today we wind our way south to Corvallis. Our travels will take us through rolling hills into the agricultural heartland of the Willamette Valley. Following a gourmet dinner take a relaxing stroll along the Willamette River.  Today’s mileage is 67 miles.

Cycling Wine ToursDAY 4: On our last day we follow the Willamette River north to Oregon’s Capital stopping in the quaint town of Independence.  On the way into Salem, we take a pleasant detour through Minto-Brown Island Park, following paved bike paths bordered by lush wetland vegetation.  As you ride visions of Oregon grapes will dance in your head. Today’s mileage will be 43 miles.
