Some examples of how we make a difference:

• All of our tours are run without vehicle support. We've found that we don't need a big van to give you a big, fun, safe experience. For more details, check out About Us.

• Our world headquarters has an almost microscopic carbon footprint. Seriously, we use all energy-saving lightbulbs, save/reuse/recycle paper, keep the thermostat turned down, use wind power for our electricity, and occupy the smallest possible space.

• We buy as much of our food as possible from local grocers, and source local ingredients whenever we can. It makes our day when a grocer gets us fresh basil from a friend's garden!  Check out Foodism for more info about our philosophy on food.

• Whenever we can, we support local economies by staying in locally-owned lodging and eating at locally-owned restaurants.

• Our guides share our ethic.  One of our guides succeeds in living car-free, and all of our guides strive for sustainability on and off the job.

• We help our guests car-pool and find other environmentally-friendly ways of getting to and from the meeting points for our tours.
